Bahl Fireproofing opened in 1977 as a fireproofing subcontractor in Central Texas. Registered and working here. Which means the vapor retarder is on the other side of the wall. Same closed-cell foam, opposite job. Get that backwards and the wall does not fail this winter. It fails in about six years, from the inside, and by then nobody remembers who sprayed it.
What the code situation actually is in Minnesota
Minnesota runs a State Building Code that sets the minimum construction standard everywhere in the state, including every city, township and county. The nuance worth knowing is that it is not enforceable by a municipality unless that municipality has adopted it by local ordinance. So the standard is consistent statewide even where enforcement is not, which is a materially different situation from Texas or Kansas.
Climate Zones 6A and 7. This is the reverse of Texas: the heat is going out, not coming in, and the vapor retarder sits on the opposite side of the assembly. A closed-cell detail that works in Houston is wrong here, and it fails quietly for years before anyone opens the wall.

All of it. Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester, Duluth, St. Cloud and the rest of the state are regular work, and our own crews travel rather than a local sub carrying our name. If your project is somewhere else in Minnesota, ask, because we probably still bid it.
How fast can you mobilize in Minnesota?
Minnesota is a planned mobilization. Winter work needs the schedule set early because substrate temperature is not a detail up here, it is the difference between a job that installs and a job that waits.
Which general contractors have you worked for in this region?
We work for the regional general contractors building the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota, among others. We are prequalified with most of the regional GCs building here and we will complete a new prequal packet and return it with the bid.
Can you do the fireproofing and the insulation scope on the same Minnesota job?
That is the point of using us. Fireproofing, intumescent, K-13, spray foam and Core-Fill are all self-performed, so one submittal package and one company covers the whole scope instead of four subs coordinating around each other on the same ceiling.
What does commercial fireproofing cost in Minnesota?

Business registration and trade licensing are two different things, and we confirm what Minnesota and the local authority having jurisdiction require for the specific scope before we bid it rather than after.
