Ross Bahl ### What the code situation actually is in Minnesota Minnesota runs a State Building Code that sets the minimum construction standard everywhere in the state, including every city, township and county. The nuance worth knowing is that it is not enforceable by a municipality unless that municipality has adopted it by local ordinance. So the standard is consistent statewide even where enforcement is not, which is a materially different situation from Texas or Kansas. Climate Zones 6A and 7. This is the reverse of Texas: the heat is going out, not coming in, and the vapor retarder sits on the opposite side of the assembly. A closed-cell detail that works in Houston is wrong here, and it fails quietly for years before anyone opens the wall.
